If you look at the long and sad history of Burma, the dictatorships, the oppression, and violence and you combine it with geopolitical factors such as resource-hungry countries like China fueling the coffers of the military regime in exchange for goods, which reduce the impact of sanctions and the demands from democratic nations to end the oppression, it would be easy to give, to say “its never going to change”.

But we are dreamers.

We believe that a story can make a difference. We believe that change can happen, that voices can be heard and that the people of Burma, including the Karen people will one day be free. But it will take more than one story, and more than one voice to make a difference.  Road of Resistance seeks to end the war, end the violence and bring peace to the region.
